Lesson Book One introduces a color-coded tablature (Color Slide Positions) to help students learn the slide positions of the trombone and apply them to notes in the Middle Range.  The Middle Range starts with fourth line F and the rest of the notes are presented in descending chromatic order ending with B on the second line of the staff.  Students will play melodies and exercises that teach them the basics of playing the trombone and introductory music concepts.

Lesson Book Two will introduce notes of the Low Range.  Students will learn about slurs, eighth notes and scales.  The Low Range begins with the note Bb/A# notated below the staff, and the remaining notes of the Low Range are presented in a descending chromatic order and end with the note E notated below the staff.  For each lesson the notes of the Low Range will be introduced relative to the notes of the Middle Range.

Lesson Book Three will introduce notes of the High Range.  Students will learn about 3/4 time, dotted quarter notes, the harmonic minor scale and etudes.  The High Range begins with the notes Gb/F# notated on the staff, and the remaining notes of the High Range are  presented in an ascending chromatic order and end with the note Bb/A# that is also notated on the staff.
